hey guys and girls,
I'm looking for a bit of technical help.
I have been building a Hyperspin arcade system for my son and it has been a bit of a budget thing. It stands as a q6600 quad, 4gb ddr2 and runs windows 7.
Up until today I have been using a GT610 passive card and to be honest it ran smooth as butter.
However I wanted a little more grunt for running future pinball so I bought a GT1030.
Upon testing the 1030 in games the power increase is obvious, frame rates are locked 75 and graphical settings are all at full on my 5x4 retro monitor. So sounds sweet huh, well when I launch hyperspin now, the opening video no longer plays flawlessly, it now stutters through with crackling audio and when the game wheel opens it's the same story. Sluggish performance and bad audio.
If I put back in the old card then all these issues go away?
I just don't understand how it could be such a huge increase in gaming but is being held back on other things.

Any advice would be a big help ;)

I have mate.
Ive even reinstalled windows today. Crazy thing is; when windows first came back on, I fored up hyperspin and with no NVidia drivers at all, it ran perfectly. I thought ahh, the windows install has fixed it so I popped on the Nvidia driver again and it instantly killed my set up again.
I can run the intro video on my laptop with no gpu at all. Just doesn't make sense for a 1030 and q6600 to struggle in this way and it only happens with the 1030.
