Hey fellas. Thanks for taking the time to read my question.

This will be my first major hardware update. Like the title says, i'll be upgrading those parts. So first and foremost, is it recommended to do a fresh install with the new hardware? Or will keeping things as is and just replacing those parts be fine?

Upgrading to the z97 chipset with an i7 4790k from the 3770k and z77 mobo. Getting a 980 too from Santa aka my wallet.

The upgrade has come at the right time because i've been having issues with windows failing to update. Nvidia drivers not always being able to install and multiple restarts everytime I turn my PC on. (Trying to update windows, failing, then restarting twice more before booting properly) With that being said, I have options to do a fresh OS install, hope that the new hardware fixes what I think is a problem with my mobo or fix that particular problem another way after the upgrade. Any advice would have my gratitude.

Thanks in advance for any help.
