At 71 years old, it's been over 10 years since I built my last PC (i5 + GTX-970).

I've been trying to get up to speed with developments (forums and YouTube) - especially rocketing GPU prices!

I'm thinking of something along the following:

AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
MSI MPG X670E Carbon WiFi
SAPPHIRE NITRO+ RX 7800 XT 16GB
64GB (2x 32 GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR5
2x Samsung 990 Evo PLUS 1TB M.2 Hybrid NVMe
1x WD 6TB Red Plus 5400rpm
Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5 CPU Air Cooler (not sure if Silent Loop would be quieter)
Be Quiet! Silent Base 802 Case
Be Quiet! Straight Power 12 850W 80 Plus Platinum ATX 3.0 PSU

What do folks think - quietness is important to me?

As an alternative GPU, I'd like to get my hands on a PowerColour HellHound RX 7800 XT - but none in stock anywhere.. :-/

All constructive comments welcome

What software are you using?

I've heard that AMD's new cards (9070/9070 XT) are going to do some work with their media engine and encoders, but can't remember where I saw it.

Useful info, thanks - just wondering what sort of cost range the new GPUs are likely to be in.. The Sapphire Nitro+ is over £500 already - and stocks of the RX 7800 XT are rapidly disappearing

Looks like £550, but does your software use the GPU a lot, or the CPU? If the software hardly uses the GPU then even the integrated graphics might be sufficient :o

Thanks again I should have said, for 4k video editing, I will use DaVinci Resolve. Info says that this software benefits greatly from using the GPU.

Oh, right. Definitely worth waiting then. I hope someone like this will cover the topic near launch, or on the launch:

Spot on! - I already subscribed to the Tech Notice YouTube channel.

Really smart guy who explains complex stuff in an easy to follow way. I've already read a number of his vlogs on DaVinci Resolve PC builds, GPUs and CPUs for content creation. Lots of other useful stuff there too
