What's the best GPU I can run with the 5800k.
PSU is a CX 430, my monitor is 23" 1920x1080 60hz.

I am currently playing around with the Bioshock games and CS:GO and feel that my current pairing (on board and 6670 1gb gddr3 ) doesn't really cut it.
I keep looking at R9 270s but I'm not that into gaming that I'd be willing to spend much more than around £60 TBH.
I keep checking all the usual places for second hand 7850 or 270 or even 750 but they all seem quite expensive and really quite close to new prices.
I thought since the mining had dropped off that there would be some great deals to be had by going second hand but I'm not seeing any.

Would a R7 260 be much better than what I have now ?

I would say first thing you should do is look into overclocking your CPU first. There's no point getting better graphic card when your current CPU itself would struggle to push and hold frame rate at around 25-40fps in some of the games regardless of the graphic card you use.

5800K at stock clock is rather weak, but I think with a decent CPU cooler, you should be able to push the clock speed to around 4.50GHz.

CS:GO itself shouldn't be too demanding at all (graphic wise), but the game doesn't use more than two CPU cores I believe, so you need to have higher MHz on your CPU to compensate.
