If you had an older PC (non UEFI) and wanted to upgrade the graphics card to something that supported ~4K resolutions (2D only) what would you choose?

In my case this is an HP Z600 workstation that currently has a HD5450 in it, I wouldn't like to demand huge power from the PSU or try and exhaust the associated heat.

Is there anything vaguely current that still works with a BIOS or do I need to trawl the bay for a bargain?

You will be glad to know you can use UEFI compatible graphics cards with non UEFI motherboards.

Take your pick on price and power supply you have available. ;)

Are you sure?

Lots of people have to flash to the latest Bios to get the latest cards to work, (my last card also required such an update and that was a 7870XT) in the case of the Z600, there are no such updates. I'm pretty sure I even found something on the HP website saying it can't do it.
