New GPU for my son?

My son currently has a Vega 64. What would be a significant step up for him? He runs Fotnite at 1080p but is chasing more FPS. Would a 5700XT be a good upgrade or would the gap only be small?

Thanks.

lower the settings the game is essentially a cartoon, the performance upgrade for the money you will have to spend won't be worth it.

Sons probably seen on Youtube that a faster PC/Graphics card will make you a better Fornite player. Vega 64 is more than enough for Fortnite. Youngest has GTX 1060 DX12 enabled and max settings on everything and he gets minimum 70fps - I know as he has the fps on the screen so you can see it whilst he plays and he can rack up double figure kills no problem. He is nearly 8yrs by the way.

Whats just as important is having a decent keyboard and for some reason the 1 key has to be directly below the F1 key as this gives you an advantage when building, apparently using the "roll round technique" ?

I've got no idea I dabble now and again to play with them but thats about it dont see the attraction.

If that's all he plays it would be a massive waste of money to upgrade from a Vega 64 at 1080p. It won't make him floss any quicker.

You might see a 15-20% boost in performance. Not worth it for the money. Vega is still capable in modern titles, the cost vs performance ratio will be more favourable in a year maybe when new generation cards are out.

the Vega64 is more than capable. the amount you would have to spend for minimum performance gain just wouldnt be worth it.

My son is running an rx570 and i honestly dont see any reason to upgrade that

Thanks all.

That must be pushing 140 plus frames as is anyway, what is his cpu?
He wants a 240hz monitor next so wants to push fps as high as possible. It's his birthday in a few months so a GPU upgrade was something I was considering and then a monitor at a later date. He currently has a Ryzen 2600 but I'm upgrading to a 3900X and will donate him my current 3700X shortly. That will probably give him a boost anyway.

I think the monitor would be the better upgrade first? A 240HZ monitor will still be good to use with the Vega 64. Correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't you notice a better experience even if the FPS won't be matched with a higher refresh monitor?
