New GPU, how do I check it's running at spec or benchmark it?

Hi.

I am a bit of a noob when it comes to this subject, but having bought a new GPU I was looking to confirm it's clock and memory speed.

I have downloaded GPU-Z but it shows 0 figures for clock and memory speeds, CPU-z only shows core 300Mhz, memory 150Mhz.

Card is one of these, MSI HD 7950 Twin Frozr III Boost Edition 3072MB.

I will download MSI Afterburner I guess, but was wondering what people do to benchmark and how easy overclocking this card is?

Downloaded and installed latest drivers from AMD. Never used the supplied disc.

Had to instal twice for some reason. Original HD-5750 drivers were uninstalled previous.

have you switched from on board GPU (cpu) to your 7xxx in bios.

When i changed my GPU for some reason it reverted back to my 2500k on board.

No on board GPU here, it's scoring 7.9 on Windows index and playing games.

Just curious as to how its running, settings and tweaks etc.

Never used anything like Afterburner, only GPU I ever OC'd was back when HIS had the 3*** series cards.

And never done any sort of benchmarking, but notice some people put results up of GPU scores. So was thinking of playing around with such.

In gpuz just click sensors tab then tick the boxes at the bottom, then try a demanding game or benchmark like unigine heaven, then exit the game or benchmark and you can hover your mouse over the red bars on the sensor tab it tells you what clocks volts etc its running at, and youll also have a log file telling you in detail.
