New GPU in older system?

Yes, I've heard little good about those nforce chipsets. I had one many years ago, though I can't remember much about it tbh. I think it was either nforce or nforce 2.

Nforce 2 imo was the best of the Nforce chipsets and one of the best chipsets ever.Ahhh, Athy XP days !

The only good thing about the later ones was that you were able to split the FSB from the memory so overclocking was really easy. They just weren't very stable :D

Unlinked memory and fsb was pretty ok on Nforce 6, it was a cracking board with a dual core cpu. My only other forte into Nforce was with AMD s939 based systems.

My evga 680i was the A1 revision model, supposedly better with quads. I dont want to think how bad the first model must have been, as the A1 was rubbish with a quad.

Rev A1 only worked on 65nm quads (6600 6700X).

None of the 45nm worked I was fuming when I found out.
