I am currently putting together a new gaming system - like many I am waiting on the new Intel K cpu's but am unsure where to go with regards to the GPU.

I currently have an old NEC 20" WGX2 which runs at 1680 x 1050 which I don't intend to replace unless needed (cos it works great.) I play a range of games but mostly WoW, D3, and various steam games.

Id like something that would cope should I move to a slighty larger screen (I don't have room for anything past a 24" I guess.)

Cost isn't an issue but I don't see the point in buying a 290x or 780/TI for a 20" display. Been toying with the idea of either a 280x/770 or a 290.

Any suggestions? (Something to match a H440 black/red case would be nice.)

Thanks

280x would be a good choice. If you can afford it, I'd recommend the 780. The 290 is better price vs performance and some models can be ulocked to 290x performance by flashing the BIOS.

The size of the screen doesn't matter, it's the resolution. a 280/280x would be great for up to 1440p.

I've just bought a 270 (non-x) which is good for high/ultra 1080p.

What Psu do you have? And what's your budget?
