New GPU no output

So I received my new Gigabyte G1 R9 380x today, deleted my old drivers, connected new card (lights up and fans spin normally) and installed drivers from the CD but whenever I connect it to the monitor using HDMI or DVI-D my monitor will just go into standby as if nothing is connected.

Any help or ideas would be really appreciated

What psu do tyou have ? try reseating the gpu and Have you changed the primary graphics source in the BIOS to the PCIe .

The PSU I have is a Corsair CX500w Builder series "80 plus bronze". I have removed an reinstalled it a few times. I was looking around some other threads before and seen to disable the on board graphics and try but now Ive done that I cant get output from my onboard either so I cant get back into the BIOS can I manually reset them?

Update motherboard bios as well as check if the onboard gpu is not being started first.

How can I get back into the BIOS if I've disabled the onboard graphics? I disabled them and the GPU isnt working still so now i have no display to get back to the BIOS

It should detect and start up with onboard GPU, worse case you will have todo a CMOS reset to view the onboard.

On your new card I assume you have both power connections connected (I think this takes dual power)

Its one PCIE connector and from what i can see?

Yes it is one connector. Try taking CMOS battery out to reset bios, then enable onboard gpu and boot from that. Update motherboard bios to latest then try the 390.

Thank you already got the battery out, how do I update my motherboards BIOS?

I replaced the battery after 5 mins and I am still getting nothing on my monitor plugged into onboard gpu what can I do to access BIOS?

There's two revisions of the board but the bios file looks the same just download the latest F11a (2013/11/13)

I used to have the same motherboard and IIRC it used to have a Q-flash utility in the bios that allowed you to update the bios from a flas hdisk or the harddrive. Press F8 when in bios.

Ok I've downloaded the latest BIOS entered qflash there are 3 files which one do I select? It shows:

AUTOEXEC.BAT
Efiflash.exe
Z77DS3H.11A

Thanks everyone it works perfectly I just needed to update my BIOS.

Im currently playing FO4, can anyone reccomend any games to show off my new card, I've been out of gaming for the last 12 months and have just upgraded to the 380x for FO4.

My spec is now:
i5 3570K
R9 380x
8GB RAM

Is my cpu still up for the job or will it need upgrading soon?
