New GPU - No signal

Hey there.

I am wondering if anybody could possibly help.
I bought a new GPU for first time in 8 yrs and tried unsuccessfully to install into PC.

The new GPU is a Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT Nitro +.

The installation went ok after a little bit of work, and figuring things out.
I removed all previous GPU drivers before hand and entered safe mode before the removal of old and then install of new.

However once turning on, all lights came on, on the motherboard and the GPU, no signal was shown on the monitor.
I did a little digging and found that there is a possibility of the HDMI cable not being fully connected with the GPU port, so I loosened the GPD a little to create enough room so that I think it was fully connected, but still no effect on the "No signal" on the screen.

There is also the possibility of the monitor being too old or maybe the HDMI cable not being up to spec, or something else.

Hoping I can be advised on what to do next.

There is an unintended benefit to all this, I was able to give the case a good dusting for first time in a few years. lol.

I have reinstalled old GPU and all seems to be running with no issues.

Below are the specs for the machine.

CPU : I7 - 8700K @ 3.7Ghz
Old GPU : Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 Ti
Ram: Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4
PSU : Kolink Continuum 1050W 80 Plus Platinum Modular
Monitor : Acer Predator GN246HLBBID 24 1920x1080 TN 144Hz

It's entirely probable that the new GPU is DOA - infant mortality is a thing in electronics - but let's cover the basics first.

Have you done a BIOS update? Did you try another port on the new GPU?

Is the GPU powered on one PCIe cable pig-tailed or two separate cables? The latter is preferable.

I should have also mentioned, that I'm a bit of a rookie with pc builds.
The machine was a prebuild from over clockers, just a terrific job, 8 years ago.
Officially my 2nd own PC, the first I built myself maybe 10 years before that.

Nope, no Bios update or didn't try another port.

The old GPU has a 8 + 6 with 2 spare, pigtailed I think.
The new one needs triple 8, so i used the above and then another 8 - 8 connection from the PSU.
Hope that makes some sort of sense

Currently trying to upgrade BIOS.
SSD is set to GPT.

Will check the CPU PCIe link speed when update BIOS

Ok so Link speed set to max GEN3.

Gonna have 1 more go at installation.

Not quite sure of exact issue.
The previous version Bios was pretty old, either that or maybe just a much better connection to the HDMI.
