Hey,

I've just done an upgrade and now having problems in that it isn't recognising my GPU. Specs:

Intel Core i5-4670k
Radeon R9 280x GDDR5 PCI-Express
Kingston Hyper X 16GB
Gigabyte Z97P-D3 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard

I've checked that the card is correctly, and all the pins are attached but comp just isn't recognising that it's there. I've tried unistalling all graphics drivers, and reinstalling new ones but it just gets stuck on detecting graphics hardware.

I have also installed all the MB drivers and it doesn't seem to have helped. I've got my monitor plugged into the GPU so it's at least recognising something. And on top of that, my computer won't shut down properly, just gets stuck on the 'shutting down' screen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, they're connected as well as they can be. The fans are spinning up on the card so it's getting the power.

I'm using a SuperFlower HX650W "80 Plus Gold"

Right, I've got my GPU recognised but still having trouble updating drivers past the "detecting graphics hardware".

I uninstalled the drivers previously via Windows which I think is where my problem is now coming from. Although, weirdly, I still have CCC on my system, which is recognising the new card just fine. Just won't let me update.

Just done a clean uninstall of AMD drivers. Now my GPU has stopped being recognised again and AMD still won't get past the detecting part.

I did a clean install of windows and everything is finally working properly.

Must have be some unknown conflict like was said. At least I can finally get down to enjoying this now! After re-installing everything anyway.

Cheers for the help everyone! :D
