New GPU or New System

Hey There,

can't decide whether to just purchase a 1080 or whether to get a full OC system built, Current system is as below

Mobo: MSIZ87-G45 Gaming Series Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3
CPU: i5-4670k 3.4Ghz OC'd to 4.2Ghz (Haswell)
Cooler: Prolimatech Megahalems Rev C CPU Cooler
Ram: TeamGroup Vulcan RED 16GB 2 x 8GB DDR3 2133Mhz
GPU: MSI HD 7970 Lightning BOOSTED edition 3072mb
PSU: Corsair 2013 GS 880W '80 Plus Bronze'

Currently game on 1440p 60hz and Vive.

Should I just throw a 1080 in there or go for a full new OCUK system

New GFX card.

Check any card physical dimensions against what your case accepts.

It's a CM Stryker, should hold 17 of anything without much issue.

Even a GTX1070 would run 1440P fine.

Imo, i'd get a used 980 Ti as they're fantastic for the price used.

But to answer what you answered, the CPU won't hold you back in anyway so i'd say graphics card if you'd definitely like an upgrade.

New gpu would be my suggestion too. Whilst the 980ti is well priced now, id still go for the 1070 if buying new. Higher vram count which could help with future games. Either will handle 1440p fine though.
