Just wondering if you knowlagable people could give me some advice.

I'm thinking about upgrading to a new graphics card as my system hasn't had a upgrade for quite a while now...

My system now:

Motherboard: Asus P5W DH Deluxe
Processor: Intel Core2Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Series GPU
Memory: Geil Ultra DDR2 PC6400 (4 x 1GB) 800MHz (4-4-4-12) (4GB)
PSU: Coolermaster eXtreme Power 650W
HDD: Western Digital 500GB (x2)
OS: Windows Vista Ultimate

Im only thinking of upgrading my GPU at the moment (I want to play Mass Effect) would I see a moderate improvement if I to get say......a XFX 9800GTX 512MB DDR3 Dual DVI TV Out PCI-E?

Ok. Im now looking at the EVGA 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 384bit Dual DVI PCI-E would this card hold up against the most recent game you think?

What's the better of these two cards.

XFX 9800GTX 512MB DDR3 Dual DVI TV Out PCI-E or PNY 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 Dual DVI HDCP HDTV out PCI-E

Okay, out of the help from this thread and advice from friends I have decided to go with the "ASUS NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 DVI HDCP HDTV out PCI-E". Do you guys think this was a good choice? What type of proformance increase will I be seeing going from the 6800?

Well to be honest I haven't really played PC games for a few years. The last PC game I played was Americas Army v2.2 and I used to play that at max resolution the game could pump out. Higher is better, no?

EDIT: 1680x1050 I belive was the rez I used to play at....
