Am currently looking for a new GPU and can't decide what will give me most bang for my buck now my budget is £250 can sway £20 more but only for exceptional cards.

My current system is
FX8120 @ 4Ghz.
Assus Sabertooth 990FX
G.Skill 4*4Gb.
HD 5570 2Gb.
1Tb Hdd. (looking for an SSD too soon)
OCZ ZS Series 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply.
All inside a CiT Vantage Midi Mesh Gaming Case.

Now I have been looking into the ATI 7000 series and these seem to be the best value for money from what I can tell was looking at either a 7850 or a 7870 but I have had advise that I should spend the extra on a 7950 instead and go up from the 7800 series is the extra cost worth the gaming improvements?

Also are there any other cards in my price range that will be better than any of these.

a 7870 isnt worth it imo,the 7850 overclocked would be better value,either that or a 7950

you could wait a bit longer for the gtx 660,see if it pushes amd prices down a little
 
I know but I have heard VTX3D is not a very good brand but that was just from a friend he does know his stuff but I don't know he also said they only seem to come with one fan so the cooling might not be any good.

Well that depends on the style of fan and the way your case cooling works.

If your case has poor airflow for example then a single blower is much better than dual fans or a single axial fan.

As for VTX3D IDK, not a brand I have any experience with tbh.
 
coming from your current card a HD 5570 2Gb,id go for a 7850,i have the msi twin frozr3 purely because it came with a 3yr warranty,but the sapphire or the his are just as good,

with the money you save spend it on a crucial m4 128gb ssd or a samsung 830 120gb ssd

the bigger/powerfull cards simply arnt worth the money imo,not unless your gaming with more than one monitor or above 1920x1200 resolution,just overclock your 7850,it will max out the catalyst control centre oc,even higher if you mess with voltages but theres no need imo
 
So would this one be any good of the 7850's as I like the 1000 clock speed the stock is only 860 from what I can see or is this one better and just OC it to 1000mhz

If I was going to overclock this past the 1000mhz it comes as would I need to change from the stock cooling?

And does overclockers sell such equipment can't find on main site.
 
Just an update on this my new build is now almost done I have just gotten a 24" LED back lit monitor full HD and I would like the card I get to be able to run that and two 19" monitors either side and maybe get some eyefinity going on would this be possible with the HD7950 or HD7850 and if the HD7850 would I loose a lot of performance with such a big resolution as since I set up with my current card HD5570 I have lost at least 25fps running it in super wide.

Anyone got much experience with eyefinity?
 
Ok I will be ordering this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-157-MS tonight I have already got 3 monitors 2 of which are VGA 1 which is HDMI I would like to have all three running I do already have VGA to DVI converters but I believe I need a mini display port adapter now I am not sure what one of these I need as you can get active ones and normal ones what is the difference and what is a budget one to get off this site. Also do I need one is one supplied with the card?
