New gpu

a little bit more info

i had ref 290 which was just too loud

then i had a msi gtx 970 which was lovely and quiet and cool

in relation to the above cards how do the 3 card in my op compare ?

thanks

If buying a new card, out of those above id discount the 295x2. Possible issues with xfire drivers/profiles. The ti and the fury x are currently pretty much neck and neck at present. A reference ti though runs a bit hot, and will be a bit louder than a non reference model. Fury x is a very cool running and quiet card due to it's AIO cooling solution. Currently the ti's do clock a bit better, but fury x should improve more on this front once voltage control is unlocked. Also, NVidia cards are on much more mature drivers, so theres still a very good chance that fury x performance will improve once drivers mature.

on Friday night i hit buy on a b grade 295x @400 and a superflower 1600 @224

went to collect on sat morn to be told the 295 ran as hot and as loud as a 290 ref so i literally walked from the sale counter to the returns and got a refund for both items.

i am currently using a old 5850 so any of those 3 is going to be a noticeable jump. so ultimate performance isn't my main priority. noise is

so out of the 3 the fury-x is the quietest ?

now the only issue is pump whine :(

Damn, choosing a new highend gfx card just seems to get harder by the day

Going by reviews yes, the fury x is a very quiet card. Though today I installed an msi gaming edition 980ti into my system. Extremely quiet even with the fan set manually to 71% and an overclock of +150 on the core, max temp of 64c when benching. The aftermarket cooled ti's are a bit more expensive though.
