Hi guys. I'm currently running a 5820k and an R9 290x on a 1440p screen, i've noticed now that on some of my games that im not getting a stable framerate.
I want to upgrade my gpu and have around 300 pound to play with what would be my best bet atm? wait for vega? a 1070? or an 8GB 480?
Any help is much appreciated.

I'm in a similar situation with a 290 at 1080p, spending £300 on a another GPU isn't worth it yet. It really goes to show how good these cards were that they are just starting to be left behind and similar priced newer cards arnt good enough to warrant the outlay of my hard earned money.

For me at least, anyway

No freesync or Gsync monitor, yeah this card has done me really well tbh. I would love a 1080 but cant really justify it atm.

Same here. The only reason I'm looking to upgrade from my 290 is for VR mainly, with multi monitors or superwide a distant second.
