Got a super old AMD OEM GPU.(r9 360).

What is the best gpu i can get in the 100-200 Price range. I was thinking 1050ti but i dont know. Any help is appriciated

Not for that card in particular, but in general it's good to have at least 8gb. What's your spec atm? Forgot to ask about the PSU in particular.

CPU: 2.7GHz Intel Core i5-6400 processor (Quad-core, 6MB cache, up to 3.3GHz with Turbo Boost)
Graphics: AMD Radeon R7 360 (2GB GDDR5 RAM)
RAM: 8GB DDR4 (2,133MHz)
Storage: 1TB 7,200rpm hard disk
Power Supply: 500W

The only thing I'll say about the GPU linked is that it has a very poor cooling solution with regards to noise. It cools adequately but it can get very loud.

If you don't mind noise, say for example you play with headphones or just aren't bothered by noise, then it's no problem and the ideal card. Otherwise you may like to look at more expensive RX 570/580 8gb options. There are some just above the £200 mark that would perform quieter if noise is an issue.

Noise isnt an issue. thanks for the reply. isnt the gpu linked an rx 570 8gb? you said for a better gpu the rx 570. but thats the linked gpu right?

Yeah it is an RX 570 8gb, however there are many different variants made by different board partners. So all RX 570 8gb cards perform pretty much the same, but different board partners have their own unique cooling solutions, maybe the include RGB, have a different/better PCB (the board the GPU chip is connected to) etc.

For a end user most of those aren't concerns except the noise/cooling performance generally. The MSI armor variant of any GPU, in your case the RX 570 , tends to be the cheapest but worst performing in terms of noise/cooling. However, in terms of FPS in games, it will perform pretty much the same as any other RX 570.

oh ok i understand. in the long term i could always add extra fans into my pc right? The noise isnt an issue though. Will the cooling be an issue? as in will it overheat and my pc will shutdown? or any other GPU cooling related problems. My pc is on max 8 hours on weekends and 3-4 hours on weekdays

Nah, as long as your case has one exhaust fan (a fan at the back or top of the case drawing heat out) and ideally - but not vital - also an intake fan (one at the bottom or front drawing air in) then you shouldn't have any issues at all with overheating. And yeah you can always add more case fans if there's any issues (which there shouldn't be) and you can get them for like £5-10.

For AMD gpu's always stick to AMD only brands, Asus, MSI & Gigabyte all treat AMD's gpu's like second class citizens by often using cooler parts they've developed for Nvidia cards, they often get caught out in ways such as using an Nvidia heatsink that isn't up to the job. The best options are Sapphire & Powercolor, XFX too but I'd be interested in hearing why there's no XFX 500 series here at OCUK, I find it strange as they had the best 480 on the market but when the 580 released they disappeared?
