Guys after having many problems with my 5870 CrossfireX setup, I returned my 2nd card and got a refund. I am in the process of selling my other trusty 5870 to a mate which has served me well!
I don't want to sound like I'm double posting, but...
I have ordered 2 ASUS 6950's OC 2GB cards.
My question is:
Will these successfully flash to 6970 clocks (core, stream processors and VRAM) or do I flash them with the modded BIOS which just unlocks the Stream processors and clocks the core up to 1.175V 880MHz? leaving the VRAM speeds alone!
Any response from other ASUS owners would be very much appreciated!

I have the asus as oct vwrsion! Had no problems with the full 6970 bios. But my volts are 1.1500 not sure if this is the stock volt for the 6970 or for some reason the bios i used had it changed. Any way all stable with crossfire and used for eyefinity.

Cool,
I was thinking about using the modded ASUS BIOS, unlocks Stream processors and sets GPU voltage to 1.175V same as 6970. It does though, leave the VRAM timings and voltage alone to save frying it. The GPU core is set at 810MHz, but with ASUS software in conjunction with ATi's CCC, 6970 speeds are easily achieved. Seems the safer option to me!
