New Graphics Card Advice

OK--Don't laugh..I got an Aldi PC --Reason---My second Overclockers PC is giving me BSODS every so often and I can't find what is causing it. Could be the Asus motherboard as like the first PC I bought from OC.

I have a 400W psu with a Medion Akoya x7330D (MSI-7366 motherboard)
Graphics card is a NVIDIA Geforce G210
Will a GT520 work lots better for Photoshop CS5/Video/Burning etc... (NO games) will the psu be ok with that card? if card ok. If So--Which make of card should I buy..(Palit/Gainward/Sparkle/MSI etc.etc.etc.)
Inside is a SATA 1TB HD and two plug-n-play 1TB cards in outside slot. Two more External 1TB attached but not always on. Maybe a few occaasions when I'll have All 4 1Tb on for transfer of Photos.

Two things:

1. The GTS250 will give better performance, especially with large graphics etc in photoshop, I should know, I design graphics on a daily basis and my HD5770 is a lot better than my old 8800GTS at doing it. As for video, it will be better for HD video and slightly better for normal DVD type rendering.

2. The PSU is not good enough!

The minimum you would need to run a GTS250 is a 450W power supply with 6 pin adapter on it, or at least a double molex to 6 pin adapter "adapter"!

I would get a MSI or ASUS version myself if possible. These are the top companies for churning out GPU's for Nvidia.

Sparkle are pure crap!

I Agree with you on the Aldi PC ***p but it works, and it works well. Needed it after my first motherboard went bust. (from OC)
Then my other one I'm useing (from OC) is giving me BSODS. Two Asus mobo's. So I had to get one quickly, so bought Aldi. I have repaired the first one so it's there as a standby.
Old AGP slot in that one.
I take it then that a GTS is better than a GT??
Will recheck my psu to see if it is a 400w or 450w.

GTS wont fit a AGP slot dude.

yea the GTS is ten times better than the GT.
