New Graphics Card Dilemma (possibly cpu upgrade)

HI guys, I'll give you a heads up on my current system

P4ht Prescott 3.6g
1.5Gb DDR ram
6800 ultra
Leadtek azalia on board sound... (toss)
LG 26LX2R
HP 19incher

Anyway, I've not been happy with this system for a while now. at 1024x768 on Hitman Blood Money, it drops to about 5 FPS on the second level.. of course its sliding between 15fps-30fps as the game goes on. Also atm it clocks 10000 3dmark points on 3dmark 03.. and 3dmark o6, it takes that long that i can't even go thru it without getting totally frustrated.

So I done a little bit of research I would like a new system Conroe based and get a new sound card. But i wanted to know would I gain a whole lot by upgrading to say 7950gx2 considering i will play at 1368x768 max?

So on the front would i be better Crossfiring 1900XTX or would i get a massive increase from a single 1900xtx.

Lots of questiong i know, but I really need a second opinion its racking my brains.

TO sum up, opinions on 7950gx2 V 1900xtx single or crossfired and also whether it would be best for performance to jump to conroe system.

I will definitely be upgrading to Conroe in future, but can buy new GPU as a stepping stone for better performance in the meantime, IF the jump is that big.

Is your current setup AGP ot PCI-E ?
Single 1900XT, go for the HIS one, just got one myself, very quiet.

I like the look of them, I dont believe i would buy any other because the cooler looks fantastic.

What did you upgrade from?

Yep, just grab the HIS X1900XT now & that should let you play games maxxed for a while on your current system, then later on upgrade to Conroe with a Crossfire mobo if you feel the need. You will get a MASSIVE increase from just a single X1900XT & should run everything maxxed.
