So I got my 1070 today and went ahead and used driver cleaner to remove my nvidia drivers. Installed the new card and powered on.
The pc hangs at the windows logo with the white bars spinning under it.
The card is working as it's the only display plugged in
.
Any ideas?

Yeah I tried on board and it's the same. Now I've tried reformatting with a fresh windows and after it does the copying files etc it still does the same thing when you should get to the welcome scree and set your user name etc it just stays on the windows logo with the white circle spinning and does nothing.

I had to flash the bios when I put in the 3570k at the start of this year but I will check if there is another one out since the release of the 10x series. Also I've tried clearing the cmos both buy removing the battery and the clear cmos button on the back. Changed the primary adapter settings to on board and ran a vga from the mobo to the pc and managed to get windows installed and working but when I change primary back to pci express it just sits on the windows black loading screen. So at least I'm getting somewhere now. Only problem is I'm at work and having to talk my wife through it on face time lol

Not tried any yet as still at work. I wanted to upgrade after Christmas but ended up with the money earlier than I thought so put the new post up to get suggestions on what to order. Hopefully I can get this running fine though as want to keep the cpu mobo and ram to turn it into a home theatre pc

well ive got home now and it works fine, one thing i noticed though is somebody had knocked my pc bending the usb stick i used to upgrage almost vertically. never checked this before so maybe it was causing issues i dont know but i pulled it out and restarted the pc booted in seconds..
thanks for the help and suggestions guys
