New graphics card installation

You NEED to have both molex cables in the 2 molex sockets on the card. It needs all the power from both to work..

It should work straight away when both are in now. Case solved. ;)

Edit - Dont let windows install stuff like gfx card drivers. They just wont work properly i reckon.

Erm no, also note AGP version doesn't have crossfire support at all. Since you only have 1 agp slot.

Okay well back to it, gonna try the stuff you said. Yes the whole time I have had both power ports connected so that wasnt the issue.

So basically solution is remove old drivers first insert graphics card plug it in and pray? I would have assumed though that the driver issue wouldnt make any difference about getting a blank screen before it even gets to the bios?

Okay so I have made some progress... the graphics card is definately working, gets to the windows loading screen, about the point where it checks the graphics drivers, then i get my blank screen. I put in my old graphics card again and for some reason despite the fact that i had uninstalled the drivers for this card they are still here... Is there anyway I can remove all signs of my graphics drivers ever being on my computer short of a format?

Ok uninstall the drivers and CCC.

Download driver clearner pro from guru3d website. [easy enough to find]

Restart in safemode. Use driver cleaner pro to remove last tracers of the drivers and then reboot into normal mode. When windows looks for drivers cancel it. And then install latest drivers and CCC if need be. But remember to install .net framework 1.1 first. [upgrade this later if need be to 2.0]

This is how i have read how ppl do it from lookin at most of the 1950 pro topics here on the forums.

Oh and to avoid black standby mode on monitor i think its best to get latest drivers for your monitor, also i read in 7.1 drivers readme doc, that if you have a tft monitor use centered timings in the CCC monitor section. Tho i duno if this actually works or not.
