New graphics card needed

Hello there, seems like a good forum to get advice from so here I go. Im wanting a new graphics card, I have a 6600gt 256 mb at the mo, but instead of spending money on booze and other wastes of money I want to get a new graphics card. I should have about £380 to spend maybe push to £400, I have been looking at loads of cards, and to be quite honest my heads full of it and I need some time served impartial advice, so do your worst people!

Sapphire ATI Radeon X1900 XT-X is about £380

XFX GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB GDDR3 is the same price

Cant go to the extreme model of the above as thats over budget for me. I have xfx 6600gt at the moment never have any problems with it. Mite stick with nvidia

Ive got a p4 630, and i cant get anymore ram, got 2gb of ocz platinum, which is sweet as, plus ive got someone that wants to buy my old graphics card which is also helping the budget a little, ive had no problems with this gfx card, so i think im going to stick with nvidia, shame on the ocuk website all the 512mb 7900gtxs are on preorder

Well, as for gaming resolution it wont go above 1280 x 768 (17in widescreen), and if I get a 19in it will be 1280 x 1024, so is it worth spending the extra money on a 7900gtx or will a 7000gt or even a 7800gtx be enough. I only usually play games like COD2 DOD, Farcry, so a card that plays these games at full res with all the eye candy will do for me.

Well, I got more than enough help that I could have asked for. Buying a 7900gtx would be a better longer team deal, shame that nowhere has any of these at all mite have to settle for 7800gtx has 7900gtm are few and far between (
