Hello I need a new GPU. I have about £230 to spend and the card needs to be PCIE. I am running a 19"TFT and have 2 gig ram, AMD 3200 64 bit (754). The 6800 GS on Special looks good, is it worth spending the extra and getting the 7800 GT or am I better of saving the £70?

Also there is the X1800 XL for simular price to the GT.

Any suggestions? not too sure what to buy!

go for the £150 x850xt. Best bang for under £200, its faster than the 6800 too, and can likely be overclocked to xtpe speeds or higher, either that or for £300 you can get an x1800xt 512mb, and up til last week, that was the king :)

1800XT is a good card and faster than a 7800GT so yes worth getting.

He said x1800xl not xt, they have a budget of £230.

I would say get the cheapest 7800GT you can, they are great performers and have quite a bit of overclocking headroom. The x1800xl is pretty much on par though, when it comes to these two cards it is personal preference more than anything.

Ooops misread... mind it's worth stretching the budget to an XT :P

Yeah i would say get the X1800XL - great cards at stock & they are really good overclockers too. If you can stretch to the X1800XT then that would be an easy choice of card to get.
