I'm looking to update my old core 2 quad to an i7 on a ReVenge Gigabyte Z97 and will be after a new graphics card in order to run the latest games (mainly to link up with the Oculus Rift so 1080 @ 70fps from what I understand).

Current thinking is that I could keep my existing BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) and add in a shiny new card, maybe something like:

Will adding them SLI bring any benefits?
Out of all the cards in the price range of 300-400 quid is there a better option?

My knowledge is a few years out of date so all advise appreciated!

too old pointless. just except its done a great job and buy a decent new card . :)

I am, but it'll be in the PC as a second card to run multiple screens, but wasn't sure as to the validity or bothering with it linking up in SLI, if not then I could look at non-GeForce cards then?
