new graphics card problem

Hi, im a OcUK customer looking for some help if possible. I'm only a novice with computers. Around 4 years ago i bought a mid range system, i5 3570k, radeon 7850 card. The other day i believe my graphics card died, all the screen was fuzzy a lot and windows would crash seconds after loading up, some flashing like an old rewinded VHS etc. And light blue screens of death and grey screens of death. Meanwhile using the onboard gfx was fine. Then i ended up messing my windows up somehow trying to fix it, at that point i was hoping it wasn't my card. So i took it to a pc repair shop, and it came bk with clean windows install and even gfx card seemed fine. Played a game or 2, then the fuzzyness problem came bk, even the motherboard load screen was fuzzy. Again it was fine on onboard.

Next I went to overclockers this saturday just gone and bought a new card, MSI GTX 960. Put it in and it works, played a game and stuff. I also bought 2 case fans, which i plugged in and also work. But i noticed the motherboard screen stays on for so long, maybe 1-2min, the screen where it says press such and such to enter BIOS. During this period i can't enter BIOS or anything on that screen. Then windows loads as normal. Today I moved my pc, took cords from the back to move it. When I came to plug those back in and turn pc on, the pc would try to power up but fail after half a second. It would continue to do this every couple secs, maybe 6 times, then it would boot up but after the long motherboard screen, it would give a black screen and not load windows. This happened with both GFX card and onboard. At this point i also noticed something odd, 2 leads which looked melted or something:

so i pecked this white stuff off, leads said power led +/- and plugged them in (wrongly) and tried boot then realised and put them in correct and tried boot, still no difference, though it did boot once straight away without the half second attempts, but still leading to the same black screen. At this point (maybe 7 hours ago) i gave up and was looking at salvaging and maybe getting a new pc. Then i just tried again before I go to sleep, plugged the 2 little leads in to the matching + and -, tried boot with onboard and it worked....so then i just tried with GFX card again and now pc is back on again, though with gfx card still having a long time on BIOS screen and seemingly unable to enter it. Now i am afraid to move my pc even an inch, can anybody help me to:

- Find out why the long loading BIOS screen with new card, and why I'm unable to enter it also.
- If those 2 little pins are significant, i did read they just powered the front panel.
- Why i had these problems today and how I can prevent it? I'm used to moving the pc around a lot and to clean it now im afraid to even nudge it.

Just as an update, I read about going back to onboard and disabling onboard, and making making PCI primary, did that but it's still same, can't enter BIOS with graphics card, if I try I just get a black screen. Also now I don't know how to enter onboard graphics again since I disabled it, just get sound and no video with onboard now.
 
Hey, thank you very much for the replies, just at work and only had time to try the page file thing in registry but it didn't work. When I finish tonight I will try the jumper and battery for longer (though I have removed the battery a few times already, only for couple secs though) had a quick look in manual before work too, that says to reset I need to do something with the jumper like hold a screwdriver to it, I'll try it when I'm home.
 
Hi there, I have tried all of the above.
Ok so first, I should say everything is still the same. I jumped the 2 pins with a screwdriver whilst power was off an plug detached. Also unplugged battery at same time for 30mins. On first boot, I had the GFX card in. Still 2mins sitting in MOBO screen, then to a black screen and nothing. Had to power it off at the button. Then tried the internal and it took me straight to bios screen, telling me it's been reset and if i should load optimized defaults (which i did). On internal GFX, the pc loads fast (18 secs) and didnt show a BIOS screen. After i switched to GFX card, booted pc, and same as before, 2min MOBO screen then loads windows. Tried in both pci slots, both same. Here is a video booting with internal gfx:

On GFX card, its same but a 2min MOBO screen. One thing i worked out: i think that when i get a black screen using gfx card after the mobo screen when booting post BIOS reset and when trying to get into the BIOS normally on the MOBO screen, I think somehow im in the BIOS after the 2mins, I but cant see it. Because when i reset bios and tried again with int gfx, it took me straight to BIOS which also explains the black screen. i say black screen but I mean black as in something seems there, my monitor isnt black because its 'off'.


The GFX card works when im booted up and i can play games fine. But this inability to enter BIOS is odd. Well i think i can enter but can't see it. And im worried about what i posted in the first vid, could those 2 little front panel wires cause that boot up problem where it would attempt to start 6 times?

Does anybody have any more suggestions or ideas? A summary: old gfx died, bought new one, runs fine with games, just hangs for like 2 mins on mobo screen whilst booting and I believe I can enter BIOS but not able to see it on the screen. Int gfx loads fast and can enter BIOS.
 
I just done the flash and put the card in and followed those steps and it loads straight up now :D thank you very much for the help.

Just one more question, is it possible that the odd booting up i had is related to this? The video is in the first post. Or could those 'POWER LED +/-' wires have caused that?
