New Graphics card time?

Playing Prey yesterday afternoon both monitors went black, PC was unresponsive and had to restart via the button on the case. Booting it up, it refuses to acknowledge the second monitor - an old Samsung one connected by DVI, and I notice what I suspect are artifacts on the background of the main monitor when normally in windows. Removed it and a few years of dust and gunk and same issue, and although temps are a bit lower in GPU-Z nothing happens.

Uninstalled a recent windows update (thinking it might be that) but no joy. uninstalled drivers and GeForce experience but no difference -still has a weird bug where on the install screen the menu appears almost picture in picture on itself. Windows reports a code 43 error in device manager but then says the most up to date driver is installed. Tried previous version - same code, not much different. Weirdly Prey now doesn't crash but is unplayably laggy.

2gb GTX 770 to be exact.
Windows 10 64bit
4670k @ 3.4ghz
16gb RAM
Asus Maximus VI HERO Z87

Anything else to suggest I try or is it worth just getting a new graphics card?

There’s a RX590 for £110 at OCUK at the moment I believe.

Sounds like it’s probably worth replacing. If gaming at 1080P the 590 would probably do you fine.

EDIT: Tell a lie, that offer is long gone. It was in March. However, I reckon an RX590 would do you well if you can find one for a good price.

Cheers, I feared it was the case but hey, it's 7 years old card. Never had an issue running reasonably modern games on it and given the age of the other bits, not worth spending too much.

Not sure I'll be able to get a rx590 at that price! 1660 is supposed to be a good budget card https://www.overclockers.co.uk/pali...ddr6-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-053-pl.html
