Cod's not that easy to run all out at higher resolutions all max'd tbh.

I'm holding out myself atm until one really stands out as a bargain compared to the 8800gt.

which would be better in these seperate options....

my current 2900 in crossfire or a single 4870?

two 4870 in crossfire or 4870x2

Id just go with a single 4870 1 gig its the best bang per buck card on the market and should run all games currently out maxed out at 1920x1200

I use the same res as yourself and run a 8800GTX i play all games i have on high to maxed out settings np.

I wouldn't bother, I bet the only game you struggle with is Crysis and maybe FarCry 2

To be honest although I love my 4870X2 I'd have to agree. Most of the other new games on the market are designed for consoles and the requirements aren't that high.

2900 Crossfire vs a single 4870 would be like Verne Troyer trying to dunk over Yao Ming.

As per 4870CF vs 4870x2.. Not really sure.. I'd have thought 4870x2 would work better than a Crossfire setup but apparently some unlucky people have the hardest time ever with trying to get 4870x2 to work properly...

It's irrelevent if there are much better cards out now, there is. But nothing needs that much power at 1680x1050 except for Crysis and Far Cry 2, so unless you play either of them 24/7 it isn't really worth it.

But then if your someone who must have the best go for it.
