Hi all i am not at home at the moment but will post an update with my specs on, system is old and im now getting to the point my grapbics wont play new games i.e. total war warhammer 2 and 40k armarda, i can play warhammer 1 but ita quite laggy and i play on tbe lowest settting.

I am looking for something that will let me play these newer games but not break my bank something under 100 if poss?

any suggestiona would be welcome as states will post specs of machine later

thanks in advance

depends on what you got. my favorite suggestion in these low budget situation is 290x for 135 second hand with 2 year warranty. although you will need a had core psu

Those games, being very big RTS also take a big impact on CPU .. there's a lot of path finding going on for those units.. GPU renders them but the CPU is driving them .

If your able to spec your system . Should be able to get advice on steps etc

Looking at the minimum system specs for Total War: Warhammer 2 your CPU is right on the edge of being able to run the game, you are short on the required RAM and your GPU is a generation behind whats required.
In all honesty, to play those games I think you need a whole new system.

If you want to try a new GPU you could try this but its not what i would recommend:
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £73.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

My recommendation would be to buy/build a Ryzen APU system, something like this:
My basket at Overclockers UK:
  • 1 x OcUK Kinetic R1 Gaming PC - AMD Ryzen "Raven Ridge" Ryzen 3 2200G = £364.01
    • CPU:AMD Ryzen 3 2200G VEGA Graphics AM4 CPU w/ Wraith Stealth Cooler
    • Memory:Kingston Fury Black 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 PC4-21300C15 2666MHz Dual Channel Kit (HX426C15FBK2/8)
    • Case:Kolink Aviator M RGB Micro-ATX Gaming Case - Black
    • Graphics Card:Unwanted
    • Solid State Drive (Primary):Kingston 240GB SSDNow UV400 Drive SATA 6Gb/s 2.5" (7mm height) Solid State Hard Drive - (SUV400S37/2
    • Storage Drive:Unwanted
    • WIFI:Unwanted
    • Operating System:Unwanted
    • Security Software:Unwanted
    • Optical Drive:Unwanted
Total: £378.11 (includes shipping: £14.10)

This system would do for now playing on med-low settings and then allow you to upgrade it with a new GPU later down the road, perhaps a Nvidia 1050 or 1050ti to get to med-high settings. In addition, I have removed the standard hard drive and put in a 240GB Solid state drive which will make the system more responsive in general.
If you think you will need more storage space you could remove the SSD and go back to a 1TB HDD.

AMD Athlon II X2 245 Processor 2.90ghz
4 gig of ram
HD Radeon 4800 series graphics card
windows 10 pro 64bit

what else would help?

BFG:A2 min specs

CPU;
i5 2500
FX 4100

GPU;
GTX 560
HD 6850

VRAM -1 GB

RAM -4 GB

Win 7 64 and 10GB HDD

Not sure if you've heard about TW:WH3 ? But it'll have the option to combine all 3 world maps for one giant campaign! believe the 2nd one does this now with the 1st games map as a DLC or a patch. Need some serious power there!

TW:WH2

CPU:
Core 2 E6850
Phenom 8650

GPU;
GTX 450
HD 5770

VRAM -1 GB
RAM- 4 GB
60gb hdd

Both for recommended Specs are asking for 1-7th gen i5 or 8th Gen i3 for Intel and AMD side would be R5 1400
GPU Wise it would be GTX 750 Ti/GTX 1050 or R7 360X/ RX460-560
8GB of system ram!

cheapest option, grab a Dell optimax (non slim if ou can ) Refurb off the bay/google and slap in your card , or gtx 1050 for £119 off here
