Hi all

Just been playing catch up over the last week or so about the new line up of GFX cards.

I currently have an MSI 970 (the one in my sig) to sell to finance this upgrade so the budget sits about £400 mark give or take £50.

I have the IN Win 805 case, and the current card sits around 62degrees mark. This is fine but have always wondered if it is worth getting a card with the exhaust fans on them to manage case temps or is the new tech running cooler than before?

My preference would edge towards Nvidia as I've always been satisfied with their cards, but if someone can argue a good case for an AMD card at the price range please let me know.

thanks in advance for the help :)

my previous MSI 970 used to hover around 60 - ish so pretty much like yours. With that budget you'd be looking at a 1070, I'd expect.

£430 buys you a 5 year warranty Zotac Amp Extreme ( big fan of Zotacs) or you can grab the cheapest 1070 out there for about £380.

I wouldn't disregard a 980 TI either, yes it's less ram, yes it's older tech, but those bad boys still kick ass. I'd go for a 1070 myself though :)

Oh, do check the size of the boards before buying, the cards are quite big ...
