Hi. I have been asked by a few friends from work to sort out a new structure for their Guild. Myself and few others from work will be joining them soon to level some new characters etc. They are wanting a 40 man Guild with a few extra members to cover their needs. They already have 15-20 active members. They want a very firm structure that will involve quite a lot of community work within small groups that will work together at all times (when possible) and create close nit groups that will blend in with other groups when needed for various events, raids etc.

Here is a picture of the structure I have created so far. It seems fairly distributed and will give all members a chance to participate in all events. Comments good or bad are very welcome as it is only a start. What do you guys think?

Don't forget to have spare tanks/healers. As you'll find people will always be missing at times.

I led a top10 guild on Tarren Mill for sometime a few years back after the majority of us moved from a really dead server.

Also having more than 2 groups can really throw a spanner in the works for things, any complaints or serious discussion should be put onto a forum so that you have a record of things that were said.

Personally I wouldnt have static dungeon/raid groups within a 'large' guild unless you want cliques to form. If you have say 10 guys constantly playing together why wouldn't they go off and form their own guild?

Hi and thanks for your comments. The lads who are in the guild already are pleased with the idea of close nit groups who will then form to create a 10 man raid group etc. The other people who are wanting to join the guild seem keen on the idea too. The main aim to to have mostly Morrisons staff in the guild along with some close freinds. All are interested in the idea so far. I guess time will tell to whether or not this structure works.

There will be chances of other dungeon groups playing with others as I said not everyone will be online at the same time and other groups can join if needed.

Pretty much this. I think this idea is too much structure personally.

Also, assuming you adopt it, how do your vets/officers/guild leader get raid ready? Who do they instance with?

I used to run in a guild that tried to run two ten man teams almost in competition with each other - it turned into a complete mess.

I hate guild politics.

With a roster of 40 people you won't get everyone there everynight, thus leading to at least one 10 man group not going and if you do 25man you can end up dumping 10+ people with nothing on raid night, not sure how that is going to work.

Dungeons are only so hard, even the worst players will be able to grasp the challenge modes effectively.
I'd either focus on single 10man group, or 25man and reduce the roster size to about 31/32

Agree with this, ideally just focus on a 10 man guild. Much easier to organise, loot is pretty much the same as 25 too isnt it? By all accounts 25 man raiding is dying a slow death and blizzard have no idea how to resurect it.

thanks again for your comments. I have put your thoughts to the Gm and he will probably go ahead with just one single 10 man group for now and see how it gets on. After all he just wanted to see how a guild like the one I designed would look like. back to the drawing board I guess. :-)

Easy, drop the equality by 10 and 25 as it simply isn't the same, make the loot different and the server first stuff, simply garbage and gives me no incentive to go back to 25mans relying on 24 other people not to screw up. Although the atmosphere in 25man is much better and the main reason most play this game is the people.
