My aging Phenom 9550 2.2ghz is showing it's age and I've decided I need more HERTZ! :D

So anyway, I've got it down to these three CPUs (undecided on MB):
Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz
AMD Phenom II X4 975 3.66GHz Socket AM3 Black Edition
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Processor 3.3GHz

I've looked at reviews, benchmarks and over clocking opportunities, but I'm not sure which to go for. The intel seems to come top in a lot of benchmarks I've seen, particularly gaming, an area the AMD chips appear to be lacking in from what I've read, but on the other hand I've read of people overclocking the 1100T to 4.2GHz, which in turn benchmarks it above a un clocked intel. The intel also benchmarked lower than the AMDs at 3D rendering, which is important as I do a lot of it I'm confident Maya can take advantage of the raw power of a 1100T. I also play the odd game too, so I wouldn't want to be disappointed in that area either.

Can anyone offer me some advice? At the moment I think I'm leaning towards the 1100T, purely down to the fact that it looks as if it overclocks well and is cheaper than the intel.

Info/experiences appreciated

Thankfully my graphics are a bit more up to date than my processor! :D For a pro card the Quadro 2000 is fine for the odd bit of gaming.

Overclocking sounds very appealing, is 4.4 out of the 2500k on stock cooling? Don't think I've read of a 1100T above that.

But isn't a 1100T, over clocked, going to be quicker than then intel, even if it were up to 4.4?

CPUs got too complicated after they got pass 233mhz for me :S

Thanks for the comments guys!

BTW, 2500k was a typo! It is indeed the 2600k that I had on my shortlist! What is it about this processor that makes it so much better than AMD's offering? I've read about SB granted I was asleep at the time but all I could decipher from it was some flimsy on board graphics that no one will ever use.

4.4 Ghz sounds great :D But I just worried about the intels performance in some 3D apps, it came in comfortably below the AMD, but with the overclock who really knows?

Decisions, decisions :D
