New Hard Drive Needed.

I have an Acer Aspire 5050 and have upgraded to 2gb's of memory but the laptop is still slow.

Could anyone suggest a fast hard drive to upgrade to. Noise is not an issue (run a dehumidifier in the room) and I run the laptop 90% from the mains so power consumption won't be a problem.

Also I use around 10GB of hard drive space so size of drive isn't important.

Edit: Budget is around £30 - £60, as always, cheaper the better.

just get the largest capacity 7200 rpm drive you can for the budget.

your current hard drive is probably a 5400 rpm model, so the increase spindle speed will make a difference to access times and transfer speeds.
