Hey guys,
I'm trying to install a new hard disk on my Mum's computer but XP doesn't appear to want to play ball!
HD's are set to boot first, then CD/DVD second and I get the usual, 'Please wait while your hardware is inspected' message etc, but then all I get is the blue screen (not bsod) with Windows Setup at the top and nothing else seems to happen? Isn’t there usually a grey bar at the bottom that shows the progress of driver installation? The optical drives (tried both) also appear to just stop and there's no HD movement.
I'm using an XP sp3 slipstreamed disc which I made at Christmas for my laptop, and that installed fine. My original XP disc is sp2 and I was hoping to avoid using that. Maybe that's what I'll try next
Any ideas?
Thanks,
SW.
