Put in a new motherboard, CPU, GFX card and RAM.

I set the DVD Drive to boot first (so I could format my old HDD and reinstall XP) I then saved changes and restarted.

The PC posted but seemed to be booting up EXTREMELY slowly. It was stuck on the motherboard boot screen for a good 10 seconds and then started to just read from the Windows XP install disk.

After 10 mins of waiting it EVENTUALLY got to the Windows XP Install screen. I deleted the partition, formated and started to install XP. After it did its thing it said I needed to restart. Once it restarted instead of accutally booting up and doing going into Windows XP to fully install it just went back to the Windows XP Installation setup thing

...Again it was running really slowly...ALSO I set the HDD back to first boot and still didnt work...

Ive tried clearing the CMOS and resetting the BIOS with no luck. Also re-seating and messing about with all the wiring in the PC. Nothing.

Anyone know why its booting so slowly and not install XP?

you could try taking the disc out after installing and see what happens the it should load up to finish the install and ask you to put disk back in to finish installation.

hope this helps had this problem my self last install

Yes it probably would boot up and install, but the thing is I left it runnig for 4 hours and it still hadnt got to the windows xp loading screen so I knew something clearly wasnt right and turned it off...

Yep. Like I said above, it didnt give any errors but after hours of waiting I knew something was wrong and turned it off...

Im thinking there must be some sort of conflict with the HDD or something...

Try disabling hardware in the BIOS, like the network adaptors and sound, then re enable once windows is on properly.

Also might be worth running a memtest.
