Ok, I have just started buying stuff for a new system Im building however I do not want to make a move and then regret it. I hav heard many people talking baout next gen graphics card, cpus etc. Please could you state when these things are being realesed:

1. Next gen graphics cards using 8 pin power connector.
2. PCIE 2
3. Intel Penryn
4. AMD Barcelona

If there are any more please state. :)

GFX, its highly advisable to wait until May.

The rest are still far away.

In the PC world if you waited for something to come out, you'd never build anything. Just build something good with whats currently available & that should last you a year or two :)

Ok... If the new ATI R600's use the 8 pin power connector (I take it you mean that card) then will I need a power supply and mabye a motherboard that supports it?

You only need a 16x PCI-E motherboard for the R600, also the 8x pin is not required, you can use 2x 6x Pins just like on the GTX, you only need the 8x Pin if you are going to overclock it and to unlock the Overdrive function in the drivers to do so, so if your only wanting to run the card at stock speeds, then 2x 6x Pins will be fine, not sure what wattage of PSU is required for them yet, probably 500w up with a hefty 12v Rail, the Corsair 520w/620w should power them though, you will probably get to know on Tuesday when the NDA on them is lifted (or whenever the 2nd of May is) how much power, and what PSU's will power them. :)

Ive heard June 11th may be Barcelona's release date.

Ok Ive just been looking at several things...

1. Enermax PSU with 8 pin connector, says 'for next gen PCI Express x16 Gen 2'... Does this mean that the R600 will use PCIE 2 or just the PCIE 2 cards will use 8 pin power connectors?

2. Picture of R600 power connector:

Why does it have 1x 6pin + 1x8pin? Do you need both to overclock properly, or is there just the option for both. Also when you were saying about Overclocking the GTX do you mean that I have to have a power supply with a 8 pin connector to overclock it?

Only my personal opinion but if you wait for new stuff to arrive then you'll be waiting forever as there'll always be something new on the horizon. Another problem with new just released hardware is that you'll effectively be the guinea pig for it whereas the current range on offer is quite mature and works.

You also forgot about DDR3 RAM so you might want to add it to your list. :)

The 6 pin connector is for current cards like the 8800s and the 8 pin is for the new ATI R600 cards, you don't need both for one card.

Anyone care to answer? :p I need to know before I order my power supply?

As i said above, you don't have to use the 8x pin on the R600 as its not required, you can just use 2x 6x pin's, the 8x pin is only required for overclocking, so if you only use 2x 6 pins you will not be able to overclock the card, if you use the 8x pin and a 6x pin you can overclock the card. :)
