Right I was thinking about getting a new HD screen for my 360. Now I'm not sure which route to go?

LCD
PLASMA
CRT
Projector - I like to idea (but do I need a decent screen to go with that, I mean to project on to.)

Size nothing less than about 26"

My budget is £350 - £400

You can get some good 32" screens for around the £400 mark, I got a Technosonic lcd tv which is a rebranded thomson which cost £399 excellent TV for the price. 360 looks great on it.

You won't get a High Def projector for that budget that is for sure.

You will be limited to an LCD on that budget if it is a HD screen you are after. OcUK sell some 32" LCD screens for around your price range. Pretty good they are too apparently.

As said earlier, forget Plasma and projector for that sort of budget. Your better off getting an LCD HDTV tbh and there are some cracking screens out on the market. The samsungs are probably the best out of the bunch...

As for CRT??, wouldnt bother tbh...they old technology now and LCDS are on par or cheaper than some CRT's.

The 360 looks awesome on my 26" samsung HD LCD, you can't go wrong with a samsung, as Spawn said.. probably the best out of the bunch. :)

Yeah I know my budget is kind of tight, I might beable to stretch.

Do you think a 26" Sammy will be acceptable drop from a 28" CRT?

Are there any particular models that are better than others? For Sammy that is?

how is the OcUK Hanns-G JT261 26" ?

Plus are LCD's ok to view from the side? I hear they are bad for that?

Thx
Andy

To be honest I don't really have anything else to compare with, but I can honestly say the sharpness, clarity and colour looks brilliant on the samsung 26" LCD. 26" is just about the right size for my bedroom thats why I didn't go for anything bigger.

I don't know how other cheaper brands will compare to be honest. A cousin of mine who plays his 360 on a 22" widescreen monitor (asus or acer), automatically notices how the colours look a lot better on my samsung. You definately can't go wrong with a samsung for your 360, but as others have pointed out, there are 32" HD tellys that can be had for cheap so maybe try see afew set ups before you buy.

LG 26LC2R, 395 quid from a competitor and a cracking screen for 360, pc and even sky.

It even convinced me to buy one and I've been less than impressed with most I've seen.

i got a ocuk yusmart 32" for around 450 and i've been impressed with it 360 looks brilliant on it .

Had this LCD originally and sent it back because of the ghosting in all my footy games :(

Went for the Mirai 32" which retails at £450 and is a fantastic screen for the money. No problem with any of the footy games now :D

The Viewpia LC-32IEE4 32" ocuk have just put up on the site, seems like it could be a decent buy. Obviously wait until some reviews turn up, but for things like 360 it looks to be spot on for the money.

My cousin has the same one, a Mirai 32" which he picked up for roughly that price too. Now i'v seen normal sky running on it, along with normal DVDs and its good quality but my samsung looks a lot better. There is a definate noticeable difference, and thats not being biased, he even thought so himself after seeing mine. Not tested my 360 on the Mirai though.

What Samsung are you using?

Its an older model, not one of the new ones. The design is similar in all of them but the newer ones are all black I think, mine looks like this...

Model: LE26R51BD S

The Sammy better be good for an average of £150 - £200 more over less known brands.

I can't seem to see any 26 inchers in my price range? Am I looking in the wrong places? or is there no such thing?

Andy
