Hi guys,
I have jus purchased a new 26" sony HD LCD tv. Im connecting my pc to it via d-sub input and the res is 1360 x 768
I was really looking forward to playing games on this monitor but however i cant get some games to load, and bf2 wont run at that res.
Games like COD2, CSS and GRAW runs perfectly and look amazing.
NFS:MW tries to load but just stays on the desktop and doesnt load. BF2 initially didnt load, i deleted the folder in my documents and it loaded, however the max res i can use is only 1024 x 768, the next one down is 800 x ***.
Does anyone know why this is?
My gfx card is x1900xtx.

thanks
Michael.

The reason is that many games (including, I imagine, BF2) don't natively support Widescreen resolutions. You either need to run at a lower resolution (1024x768 is the highest non-widescreen resolution your TV will accept) or you need to find a way to make the game use a widescreen resolution. Fortunately most games can be adjusted in some way, look at http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/ for some fixes.

(when games aren't loading at all, they're probably trying to use some higher resolution you've tried in the past and failing because it's not supported, but not managing to change to a lower resolution. There's often a simple way of setting the resolution properly in the registry)

(there's a solution for BF2 at http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1030 - change the 1900 x 1200 to 1360 x 768
)
