new headset advice please

i want to get the mrs a good headset for part of her christmas present. am looking for hellishly good sound quality (for music and gaming) but they can't be huge. she has a small head and quite frankly my headset looks stupid on her. she needs a mic for gaming. and if it has lime green or orange it would be awesome. help me please!!

don't really have a budget in mind obviously not stupidly expensive but i use sen pc 360's so i don't mind spending enough to get good quality. another part is a bigger monitor for her

she did buy me 2 monitors last year so i could have eyefinity

Beyerdynamic MMX 300 and they are amazing when paired with a STX card. Very good.

If you want amazing sound quality I will tell what a lot of other audiophiles will say. but some normal headphones and buy a clip on mic or a desktop mic.

The steelseries siberia v2 are a cracking headset ( i have white) which can be brought in green or orange
Not that big, but build quality is excellent

Headset is one thing, but what's the soundcard on her pc?
If its onboard sound, headphones alone won't help much.
There are some sweet deals on sounblaster cards this week in OCuk store ( I am studying contents of my wallet and drooling at the sight of ZxR

You could get a usb headset thus reducing the need for a decent sound card. You cant use a headphone amplifier and besides if it's for gaming don't worry too much about that you'll be fine

I was looking for the same thing a few weeks ago so I went with a Beyerdynamic DT770 pro , http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SC-088-CL&groupid=701&catid=11 and a AntLion Modmic. If you want quality sound you wont find it in a headset unless you spend over 150euro. The Beyerdynamic MMX 300 is very good but it's very expensive for what you're getting.
