Hi All,

I want to get my gf a new headset.

I was looking at the razer megaladon but whilst some reviews say they are great other say they are just awful. I was looking at razer because her keyboard and mouse are so it would have been nice for them to match.

It's used almost exlusively for gaming (we're going to i49 next week so would be worn for most of the weekend so definately need to be comfortable)

I need something that is comfortable to wear and reasonable sound quality (and microphone). Probably looking around £100ish. It needs to be a headset (she wouldn't want to use a separate microphone)

A couple of friends have got the Asus Vulcan headset which they are happy with, any thoughts on those?

Any advice?

Thanks

Thanks fot yhe suggestions so far, i haven't considered anything so far other than the megalodons.

she is using my old set currently which are the siberia v2. they are comfy bit dont have noise cancellation (that im aware of)

You didn't mention noise cancellation in the OP ;) haha

Well it doesn't really need to be like the ANC on the Asus headset but we go to the iSeries LAN parties and it can get quite loud

I use a QPAD QH-90 and these dont let any noise in at all which is perfect for lan. The comfort is amazing , you just dont know you've got them on and I can wear them for a few hours at a time. Microphone does its job and i've had no complaints from others when on TS. Good price and look good too.

I just got a pair of these two days ago and I am extremely impressed by the so far. Solid build quality and brilliant sound output, with none of the over-heavy bass usually associated with gaming headsets. The microphone is detachable when not in use, and actually stays in the position you adjust it to.

I have the Razer Megalodon and it is VERY comfortable BUT I do occasionally get the crackling which has been known to be a slight problem from time to time, but I have found that this only happens when I don't use them very often.

Another thumbs up for the Qpad qh-90 paired up with the creative xfi pro, which plugs in nicely to the clevo 170 em. So I can play Project reality with all the old Eax effects that the battlefield 2 engine supported. Marvelous :)
