I've been looking at headsets for about a week now and I'm after some advice.

The original set that got me looking were the Sennheiser PC363D but it seems they may be coming to the end of their life cycle as OC and one other place I looked are out of stock right now with no word on when they'll get more.

Through my research I've some across different set ups and brands so I was hoping people could help me find a solution.

I game on both PC and PS4 so whatever I get has to be compatible with both.

Whilst I started by looking at headset with mics I'm not against buying a headset and separate mic.

Other than Sennheisers I've seen Astro's mentioned a lot but most reviews are conducted by people affiliated with them so I don't really trust them. I do like the look of the A40s with the amp included but wanted some more feed back on them.

I think the solutions I'm looking at are:

Buy an all in one headset like the PC363D, the Sennheiser G4ME ONE's look like the closest ones if the PC363Ds are done.

Buy a good quality headset (again I'd go for Sennheiser from personal experience) and a good quality USB mic, I've seen Blue microphones recommended for this.

My budget is £200-£250, I'd say I value the quality over convenience, so if I can get better results buying them separate but being to the higher end of my budget I'd be happy with that.

I'm welcome to all suggestions and advice.

Thanks in advance.

For mic's, Blue Yeti and Snowball would be your best investment. Highly rated throughout the world so know you can't go wrong with them.

Headset wise; well I'd like to ask, does the TV you play PS4 on have an AUX out? Mine does for my Xbox so I can just plug it directly in there. If so then you could easily get away with buying the Kingston HyperX Clouds (or Cloud II's) as those are extremely highly rated, again worldwide, especially for their price. Although given your budget you could comfortably find something of superior quality.

I don't really know anything about more "high end" headsets (even though Cloud's and headsets around that level are considered high end too) so sorry I can't give a greater input on the more expensive stuff; I'd never personally buy it so it doesn't interest me to learn about it!
