New here and need advise...Please help

Hi all,

I'm after buying a new monitor for my new Xbox oneX (only use)which I will receive tomorrow, I just don't know what to buy so I have joined to receive some OC wisdom after lurking for many years!

I would like a 4K monitor with freesync, low input lag and just a real good screen but I'm struggling to choose one. I don't really have a budget and size pref is no bigger than 28 inch if I can unless I'm recommended something bigger.

Please help me OC guru's!!!

On paper it seems like a good option for Xbox One X, but according to this site, it only supports FreeSync over DisplayPort, not HDMI. Maybe you should look into these, instead:

LG 27UD69 (/P)
LG 32UD89
HP Envy 27s

Or use the above linked site to filter the best option. Not sure how accurate those filters are, so you should always double check the specs elsewhere, as well.

Well, your Xbox One X doesn't have DisplayPort, so I'd say there's quite a difference...

In summary:
If you're using computer, then DisplayPort is the best option, currently.
If you're using anything else, then HDMI is probably the most optimal solution.

To simply get a picture through, sure. But the FreeSync most probably won't work with a converter. The DP and HDMI signals aren't directly bit-compatible, so it would require a separate protocol for the chips' "handshake" to understand that they are dealing with a converter. I haven't heard about this being done before, but could be possible at some point in the future. Wouldn't bet on it, though.
