Evening guys and girls

First post here and quite new to the pc world so bare with my lack off knowledge to a point and sorry if this post is in the wrong place. Anyway long story short will this pc work and well?

I want to play games anywhere from indy to AAA (variety gaming) I also have a youtube channel and want to upload my gaming videos so i will be editing on the pc (not to fancy editing).

The configuration i have come up with is below:

CPU: Intel Core i7-9700K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor (WILL BE OVERCLOCKING)
-
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240R RGB 66.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
-
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 AORUS ELITE ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
-
Memory: Kingston HyperX Predator RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
-
Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 250 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
-
Storage: Seagate BarraCuda 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
-
Video Card: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8 GB GAMING X Video Card
-
Case: Cooler Master MasterBox MB530P ATX Mid Tower Case
-
Power Supply: Cooler Master MasterWatt Lite 230V 700 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply

If its overkill thats fine, its pretty much around my budget.

Thanks

Matty

Yeah i can see your point!

Really? A 3700? Purely cost based?

I have actually looked and compared the 5700 to the rtx, i just think its a preference for me really.

Yeah i did think that at the time and could stretch to 500gb if i had to.

Get rid of the slooooooow 1TB spinning disk, and over priced Samsung NVMe SSD and replace them with a single large SSD for the same cost. A 1TB NVMe SSD is going to be much better for editing with. You can always add another drive at a later date when you have the funds.

The rest is up to you, as you haven't supplied information on the budget you have, or the resolution of your monitor or the refresh rate.

Oh okay, yeah that makes sense to be fair! Sorry yeah i have around £1500 ish for the tower and the monitor im looking at £400 preferably 144 and above and 4k or even 2.7k if i had to

Well you aren't going to be playing AAA games at 4K on a 2060 Super, and you aren't going to get a 4K 144Hz monitor at that resolution for £400.

I think you need to be a bit more realistic with your expectation within your budget. Something like an RTX 2070 Super will play games at 4K between low 40's and above, but 60-80 is the best you are going to see, and the 1% lows could be horrible.

If you want 144Hz you need to be looking at 2560x1440p, or 3440x1440p with an RTX 2070 Super or RX 5700XT, and monitor pricing from about £400-700 depending on the panel type you want. I would not forget that committing to a monitor is a big deal, you cannot upgrade it without totally replacing it, but you can easily add on to the base PC if you need to move some of the budget from that.

Yeah i just changed out my configuration for the 5700xt and its comes out better in nearly every way haha! As for the screen, 2k and 144Hz so £400 minimum is kinda the deal? Thats not an issue as funds aren’t either but like you mentioned a monitor is a big deal! Thanks for the heads up!
