Hi All

Just joined here as I'm considering building my next PC. I usually build myself a new one every 4-5 years and find I have to completely relearn the technology every time.

Currently
i7 - 920
6Gb 1333 ram
NVidia GTX260 graphics.

It's played everything I've asked of it up to now (FPS & RPG) but it can't cope with Witcher 3. Runs at about 5 Spf (yes - seconds per frame)

Lots to learn as always.

Welcome. I know the feeling.. You stop looking at PC parts for a few months and when you come back, you need to learn it all again!

Couple (hopefully) non raging tips to help your next build -

Intel are still the go to CPU

AMD/Nvidia war is as hot as its ever been

There's a lot of new tech in the monitor department to think about

And if you haven't already, an SSD is a huge upgrade from a normal HDD ( but keep one around for backups!)
