New High end pc build

Hi I am looking to replace my pc for a high end one that can cope with the following things in order of priority:

- play live video from Internet in up to 4k quality to my 55 inch qled samsung tv. No slow down or jerkiness.
- download movies in 4k to store locally and replay in 4k on the TV.
- use as a gaming pc linked to the TV in 4k.
- perform smooth video editing using software.
- Internet browsing and playback including music and video to the TV and sound bar.
- regular file management and ms office work probably just to the TV screen.
- link in quickly to some sort of cloud based storage.

I have fast fibre optic about 60mbps so I guess this should be enough for the above? Or can I get away with less? I also have sky q connecting to it and the TV. I have 4k chromecast I intended to use to cast from the pc or is hdmi wire still best?

What's the ideal spec I need to look at for this pc and is there somewhere that makes it easier to pick all the components and builds them of I can just put them together myself if cheaper?

  • Do you have OS?
  • Happy to build yourself?
  • Is the primary purpose productivity or gaming?
  • What productivity software will you be mainly using?

HAve you bought any parts at all yet?
 
If its mainly gaming I’d go Intel at your budget. At your budget 4k playback really shouldn’t be an issue. Few more questions:

Do you need a keyboard / mouse?
What form factor do you want? ATX / mATX / ITX?
Which matters most; noise or performance?
Do aesthetics of the case matter?
Do you have any components you can use?
How much storage do you require?
Do you want to watercool?

Personally I would use an HDMI cable, but you can cast if you want I guess. I’ll put a spec together for you later, once you’ve answered the above questions.
