Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme Edition QX9650 (£681.49)

Asus Striker II Formula nForce 780i (£234.99)

EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB (£299.61)

Logitech G15 Rev.2 Gaming-Grade Illuminated Keyboard
(£52.86)

Western Digital Raptor 150GB 10000RPM SATA 16MB Cache - OEM (WD1500ADFD) (£116.31)

Samsung SH-S203PRSMN 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer Lightscribe ReWriter (£23.49)

Samsung SM-2232BW Pebble 22" (£223.24)

Logitech G9 mouse (£46.99)

Total: £1,694.20

i need help on what psu to get and a slave hdd. Once ive got tht ill fill in my £2,000 budget with some random crap and a case.

any suggestions?

note:- ill be playin games like COD4 and battlefield 2 on high res and will also be overclocking

The QX9650 is a multiplier unlocked Yorkfield 45nm 12mb cache overclocking beast!! if you want the best processor that is the best!!

Where as a Q6600 G0 is bang for buck clock happy kentfield, great as it is you can’t compare it to a multi unlocked yorkie.

If money is no object go for the yorkie QX9650

for the price you would be better off with a HD3870X2, much faster than an old GTX

You do know a pc half that price will rip through games like COD4 and Battlefield at silly high res????

I know the QX9650 is going to be an absolutely beast, but personally I would save the £450 odd.

also that spec is going to last just as long as everybody else new build, its just going to cost more

If you want to spend that kind of money, wait till the 9's are out. I would Raid0 two Raptor.

also what do are you planing to use on you new PC, does anything really require this level of hardware. as Hesky82 a rig half that price will rip through games like COD4 and Battlefield at silly high res.

honestly ive already got a comp tht is amazin on battlefield but ill be gettin a lot of money soon and im jst lookin forward to a nice biuld and a comp tht will jst be amazin to hav. and im really the type of person hu thinks if u hav £450 why not spend it so either way its goin somewhere why not on an extreme machine.

and i forgot to mention tht ill be throwin in a couple more grafix cards (triple sli), wuld 600w-700w be enuff for all tht?

Hey OP, RAID some raptors, no need for this slave malarky with SATA, unless you mean data disk? In case yeah get the 500 gigger mentioned. If you're triple SLIing get an Enermax Galaxy, or equiv Tagan PSU

Corsair HX 620W
Seagate 7200.11/Samsung SpinPoint F1
Lian-Li case

IMO if just gaming get new Wolfdale Dual-Cores & HD 3870 X2 :)
