New HIS 6870 IceQ issues

Hi,

I just bought a HIS 6870 IceQ as an upgrade from a HD5770 I had in my system.

The new card keeps giving me a solid colour (yellow, orange, grey, black, light blue) and crashing windows. Windows does not register a crash but becomes unresponsive and requires a reboot. I do not get a grey screen and stripes as the 5800 series used to get.

This happens randomly within about 30mins of me logging into Windows. I do not need to put the system under stress for this to happen it happens while idle.

While it does work I have managed to run Furmark for 10-15min and the temps remained around 60ºC under load and about 30ºC while idle (so it is not a temperature issues).

I tried uninstalling and installing multiple type of CCC and drivers until I even completely did a clean install of win with just the basic installed (chipset drivers, raid drivers).

I have manually installed the latest radeon drivers without using CCC to take that out of the equations.

I have got a Corsair TX650W psu which is very new and was working fine with the HD5770. I have tried different cables and using different sockets in modular psu.

any other suggestions ?

Thanks
Simon
