Hi,

Need advice, just replaced my old GTX460 with HIS280x, but cannot get any display. I suspect its PSU, but not sure. I have quite old Arctic 750w with only Molex (4pin) so GTX460 was used with Molex to 6pin, worked ok for last 3years.
To get 280x powered, I've connected Molex to 6pin then adapter to 8pin
I guess there is no way this setup with 2 different adapters can work? am I right it's PSU? or there is way of getting this 280x to work with existing PSU just I have not connected correctly?

Thanks

A decent 650w+ PSU should run it no problem but capacitor aging can make the output lower. Superflower/Corsair/XFX/Seasonic are just some of the good PSU makes you can get. I would never use a adapter for something that uses quite a lot of power in fear of it burning out.

Thanks for replies.

The Specs are, i7-2600, H67 Mainboard (Generic) 2x 1TBx 1x 30Gb SSD, 12Gb DDR3
The Card has 2x 8Pin if that was what you were referring to.
It's below model:

I hope by using adapters I didn't damage the card, anyway checking now for the new PSU you both recommended.

Edit 05/08:Well, tested Card in another PC at work, all good with 550W PSU, so I went ahead and bought below PSU, I guess for my Spec that should be good, single card no plan for CF at all.

Thanks
