New home, 1.5mbps, gaming.

I've just arranged my house move with BT who have told me I will be leaving my 40mbps infinity to move to a 1.5mbps speed.

They have no plans at present to upgrade the areas speed (probably because of so few houses with it being so rural).

Will I still be OK for gaming, is there anything I can do to help myself?

1.5Mb/s is fine for gaming.

Ouch at the speed drop.

You should be fine with that speed, but obviously expect patches to take longer to download.

The area might be in the plans. Follow KIA's suggestion and see what might be happening.

My mum's house has 512kb-1024kb, it fluctuates from time to time, but the ping has always been nice and solid

It can support me and my brother both playing CS/TF2/L4D at the same time with ease (when we're both there..)
